That morning had been more than a little.... Jarring.
First, Darcy had woken up to Damien standing over his bed, which had very nearly given him a heart attack in and of itself. Because first, Damien didn't typically stand over his bed watching him sleep, and second... if he had, Darcy would have known because of their Gestalt link.
Of course, the surprise drew a startled, "Damien, what the heck??" from Darcy, which drew only a confused look from the other twin, along with a, "... Since when do you know French?"
Yes, that morning had been strange. And now they'd done the most natural thing they could think of-- go to Hammel. Because someone there would know what was going on, right?
Wrong. No one had any clue why they had lost their power, or why they'd gained random new ones. Stranger still-- there seemed to be a complete epidemic of this phenomena. So, they'd stuck around Hammel to sort've help keep an eye on things. It had nothing whatsoever to do with the fact they'd both just been thrown into strange and unknown waters, and Hammel was a safe spot. Of course. Though if it was, Darcy would admit it well before Damien.
"Well, at least the school isn't in total chaos..." Darcy ventured, being sure to talk in English this time. Man, it was weird having his own thoughts again and knowing that Damien was having his own, different, ones.
Damien only grunted. This whole situation was completely out of control, which made it frustrating beyond belief. And it didn't help that he kept getting random mental notifications of spiders in the near vicinity. Of course... apparently he could also climb walls like Spiderman now... but he was currently too upset to be as excited by that revelation as he might have been. "Let's just focus on making sure no one kills themselves by accident, so other people can focus on fixing this."
Right, they were adults, after all, Darcy reminded himself. Weird that he had to remind himself of it... usually Damien's influence took care of that to an extent. He nodded, though, and glanced around the Courtyard. What if some students had woken up as Gestalts? How strange would that be? Strange and.. well... unpleasant. Plenty of powers could be unpleasant to wake up with, for that matter. So, he prepared to look as official as Damien was looking-- ready to help out.
Of course, he wasn't going to let his spiffy new power go to waste, so any passer-by would hear the twin chatting aloud, switching languages every few minutes (not always on purpose), while the other looked as if he would face-palm... if it wouldn't be unprofessional.
