Google Your Characters

[Stefan Spencer]

So basically I was thinking it would be interesting to google my characters (their actual names, not the playby names) and see if there were real live people with their names out there and what those people were like.

For example:

Jonathan Bishop is an Internet Trolling Expert and editor of the book Examining the Concepts, Issues and Implications of Internet Trolling

And some of your thought it was fun too. So if you find a cool one, or just feel like doing all your chars, go for it!

Angie Thompson is a video game character on Trauma Center. Also found another one where she's a horse trainer/showjumper.

[Gryphon Matsuoka]

Looked up Gryph's name, and after fishing around Free! Tumblrs and mythical beast websites (and also searching on the yellow and white pages), I did not find a Gryphon. The closest I got was a university student from Cali called Gordon Kenji Matsuoka (originally Kenji Kenji Matsuoka... exciting stuff)

I found the instagram of a Miss Georgina Speer who is from England... and looks kinda like George. Well played, universe.

And Finn? ...ha, nope.

[Marnie Sullivan]

Marnie Sullivan is apparently a professor at Mercyhurst University who teaches writing and literature courses. (According to ratemyprofessor, she's knowledgeable and fun but assigns a lot of homework.)

Josie Raines is either a twitter Christian, a track & field athlete in West Virginia, or a Pinterest nerd. 

Sophie Tillman died at the age of 98 in 2006 but somehow uploaded exactly one youtube video about five months ago.

Katya Moschella is a fictional character on a roleplaying website called The Hammel Institute.

Bonus: All of their avatars were among the top google image results, except for Marnie's. For some reason her name pulled up Karalie's.

Jamie's name is a bit normal, but it was cool to see that this Jamie Mills is an artist! Some pretty interesting work too!

[Salem Hirch]

Salem brought up absolutely nothing but all my stuff with him..lol. No real surprises there. The name Salem is used, but his last name of Hirch was just totally made up. Sometimes it brings up Hirch Dam in Nebraska, which is REALLY funny..lol

Rune LeBeau's name also just brought up Hammel, and a LOT of Gambit stuff..lol.

and again Geist.(Thomas Geiston)...nothing...lol

and nothing for Caelum Mitchellson......this is getting dull..lol

Henri Rosario is apparently a waiter at La Gourmandise in Paris

okay...soooo....with Joseph Morgan Jr....I totally didn't realize that was the dude's name who plays Klaus in The Vampire Diaries..lol which is FINE by me...but other than that...he could be a LOT of things apparently...its a very common name

Amanda Joy Lane brings up stuff about my character over the years, but AJ Lane is a hair and makeup artist out of Portland.

Thomas M. Montgomery is a retired US Army Officer and then there are crime reports that come up about Thomas Montgomery, who apparently posed as someone else on the internet, got involved in a love triangle and then murdered his competition...

Jade Parrish is only bringing up Janel Parrish who is an actress from Pretty Little Liars and played Jade in the Bratz movie. xD

White pages tells me that there are two people named Everett Lilien in the US. That's about it.

Julien Duval is a freelance artist and photographer from France who has traveled to Croatia? And there is another Julien Duval who is a cyclist on a French team. '

Rylee Vasquez is on facebook and appears to be a middle schooler. Otherwise, all about Hammel.

Carleigh Davidson: Brings up a lot of Hammel related stuff, but I could only find one Carleigh Davidson born in 1904 in Kentucky.

Kristina Novak: The first link is a website for a Kristina Novak who is a real estate agent and also sells horses.

Oliver Barnes: He's apparently a character on an Australian soap opera. I also got a link to an obituary.

Vanessa Rodriguez: A Canadian musician

James Lawrence: Was an American naval officer. If I google William Lawrence, it links me to a Wiki article that has a ton of William Lawrences xD

Akira Koizumi: wait for it….a female actress who played Akira Momoi a.k.a. DenziPink on Denshi Sentai Denziman. I am laughing so hard.

Kingston Carmichael: I get Ian Carmichael's Auto Service in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. And I got some things relating to Hammel.

Paul Wilkerson: He is a Minster of Students at First Missionary Baptist Church. I also found Col. Paul Wilkerson and Sons Real Estate & Auction Co.

Daniel George Taylor: He is a lawyer, attorney, corporate counsel in Ohio.
And if I type in Daniel Taylor: He is a writer who was born in 1948. And a music teacher who was born in 1969.

Just realized I never did this with my other chars...

Stefan Spencer is a violin teacher.

Harmony Muller-Barton leads me straight to Hammel, but Harmony Muller has some facebook profiles.

Jacob Bishop is an associate in the intellectual property group. He focuses his practice on trademark and copyright matters.

Zeb Hayes has discovered pinterest, but has no likes on anything there. Still 11 people follow him.

[Kali Caraway]

Ann Hudgins is a divorce/domestic relations/ insurance lawyer in Virginia.

Kali Caraway doesn't exist outside the Hammel universe and Hammel/ proboards comes up in the google search.

[Jasper Blackwater]

The first result for Jasper's name is a restaurant in Alabama, which would make him happy. All the other results are for places (Jasper, AL and the Blackwater River, etc).

Nothing much shows up for Winter, although whitepages.com shows two Winter Rowleys in the United States—one in Utah, and one in Ohio. Both are over the age of forty. Presumably neither of them are crows.
