An orphan from New York, Oriel grew up as a child with many disadvantages and his resultant behavioral problems while growing up in the foster system. Now at Hammel, he is a teen still with many issues that keeps him from trusting others. He is perpetually angry at the world - at teachers, mentors, his parents - for leaving him in a situation that left him so screwed up. He has a tendency to takes out his frustrations on those around in the form of insults, racist remarks and other slurs, and overall just being, as he calls himself, an asshole. But don't let his vulgarity fool you into thinking he's just another no-good delinquent(even if he is). Oriel is calculating, manipulative, committed, and sticks to a plan(and his word) like a fly sticks to flypaper.

If you can take verbal abuse well and even sling some back at him, then Oriel will like you. He finds people who are direct, who don't sugar-coat, and who may even admit their dislike for the boy to be some of the most honest people out there. Lay all your cards out on the table, don't try to tip-toe around him, because he won't appreciate your so-called sensitivity, maybe even throw a punch or two, and you're bound to find a friend in him. Once you do, that label stays and you get to see a goofy, playful, childish boy who won't hesitate to go in for a hug.

Oriel has a hellava lot of attachment issues. Being ditched by his parents, shuffled around foster homes most of his life, and even having his twin sister stolen from him had left Oriel feeling like there was something so wrong with him that everyone he cared for just had to leave. So when it came to lovers, he sought many at once, from anyone who would spare him a place in their bed. A committed relationship, however, is likely to be very destructive, as he is possessive, distrusting, and swings between co- and counterdependency. He manipulates his partner into being so completely and utterly dependent on him, they can't even think about leaving like everyone else had. Yet, if Oriel suspects that his parter is pulling away, he's liable to save himself the heartache and push them away completely while at the same time desperately hoping that they still come back.

Given his attitude, it's no surprise that Oriel has made quite the number of enemies while at Hammel. There are just some people who won't like him no matter what. And the same way, there are just some people he won't like either. He hates being lied to, he hates being made a fool, and he hates manipulative women. And rich people who take their privilege for granted. And who look down on people like him. And patronizers. And oppressive authority figures who don't take a moment to gain a clue.

From the infamously large Bishop family comes the second eldest son, Zachary. A gloomy writer and current grad student, Zach spends most of his days lost inside his own head, quiet and in the corner, a real introvert. While he might not have much to say, when he does he is about as awkward as awkward can be. He has a shaky relationship with much of his family, but also an intense loyalty towards them such that he can't bring himself to abandon them should they need him. His favorite genres in writing and literature are fantasy and science fiction.

While Zach might seem a little standoffish with the resting bitch face upon approach, he's actually a very forthcoming and friendly person. It's just he doesn't do words well. Out-loud. Ever. He's more likely to connect with other introverts like himself, but is also willing to befriend those pushy extroverts who like to rope him into things out of his comfort zone. He just goes along with it, all smiles and nods.

Oliver: My best friend since high school. I feel bad, keeping things from him.
Jade: My boss at the school newspaper. I think she just likes to give me grief.
Kodi: He looks scary, but I know it's just an act. He likes books.

Zachary is, for lack of a better term, completely and utterly sexually retarded. He's not likely to pick up on the subtleties of flirtations, especially those directed at him, unless you literally come out and tell him point plank "I like you.", "Go out with me.", or "I want to have sex.". Fortunately, this might be changing as he seems to be finally reaching his sexual awakening. For the longest time Zach thought he understood what he wanted in a partner, and prided himself on it. But recent events have forced him to turn around and reassess his desires…and he's not sure yet if comfortable with them.

Kai: Nothing makes sense. Can't be with him, can't be without him. I wish I could just forget.
Noa: I like her. We've…hooked-up…. But I think she's avoiding me.

Enemies…

Zach tends to be pretty easy-going, very mellow, but he can have a temper if pushed too hard, especially over matters he doesn't want to talk about. His biggest peeve are people commenting on the size of his family and using that as the only factor to define him. His second would be people talking after he'd already told them to shut up. It also seems that when he's angry or upset, it's the only time he doesn't lack the words to express himself, so if you push him that far, he will definitely bicker. Finally, and this almost goes without saying, anyone who has a problem with any of his siblings will have a problem with Zach.

Adam's a bit of a dork, which is an understatement, he's actually a full blown geek, stoner, and conspiracy theorist. He's pretty chill though tends to talk non-stop about any and every subject imaginable. Despite his careless attitude and a few shady things he does in the back alley, Adam is pretty straight-laced. He works hard at his job(though will complain about it incessantly), he pays his bills, takes care of his dog, and practices his drumming whenever he gets a chance. He wants to reinitialize his band so he can get out of PR, though he doesn't mind staying because it's an awesome town filled with meta-humans and has theories of a government conspiracy where meta-humans are sent to the private school on the outskirts to train to become super-soldiers.

The awesome

Friends are easy to make so long as you don't suffocate on his talkativeness. He enjoys talking to people and doesn't discriminate, or at least he likes to believe he doesn't. While he might complain a little when shot down by girls or insulted by friends, he doesn't take it personally and bounces back quickly, especially if there are games to be played.

The amazing

As much as he hits on girls and love them, Adam has yet to have ever gotten a girlfriend and as such, is sadly the stereotypical virgin geek. His short attention span and tendency to use bad pickup lines certainly doesn't help. However, were he to find himself a lover, he would likely treat them like the goddess they were. No men though, not no way not no how. Adam is slightly homophobic and will react sharply to any man who hits on him. He has nothing against homosexuality in general, no discrimination here, it just gives Adam the fucking creeps when directed at him.

Adam can easily get on someone's bad side when they discover how shallow he can seem or just how much of an idiot he is. He's also very direct in what he likes and what he doesn't, so will often call people right out on things that aren't cool, which can be unnerving for some. After all, Adam feels it's not worth it to like someone who doesn't give you the time of day, so if you don't like him, he generally won't like you.

Naozumi is a child who means well, he's very direct, and doesn't blink in the face of confrontation. He is also an airhead. It takes him a minute or two to understand what's going on in people around him. He might not get social cues right away and spends a lot of time thinking and analyzing a situation before finalizing on a course of action. Nao has a very small and subtle range of facial expressions, leaving him with a very vacant look most of the time. Therefore, anyone who can coax out anything more than that, like a full bodied smile, must be very close and important to him.

Nao might be difficult to make friends with considering how very little he speaks. He is a boy of few words and when they come out, they are very to the point while spoken with that soft voice of his. While he might get attention for his baby-face, it bothers him that that would be the only reason why people would talk to him. When a genuine connection is made, however, he can be horribly clingy and attached. He doesn't hang off of people, but he does hang around them and follow like a puppy. Nao likes getting attention from the people he's close to.

Naozumi knows he is homosexual, but is half-way in denial about it. He gets crushes easily though and may start doing the puppy-dog following when he finds a boy he particularly likes in a girly attempt to be noticed, though he may never admit his feelings, either to the object of his desire or to himself. While he might not have a serious relationship with a girl, Nao will date one if asked, though that's about as far as it will go; just dating. He's not sure if he would be comfortable with having an actual relationship though, and has many reservations about making the relationship physical(understandable, he's only 15).

Enemies will definitely be any who enact ridicule or suffering upon others for their own enjoyment. Bullies, basically. He doesn't like them. Usually, if they leave him alone, he'll leave them alone, but he can't leave a situation alone when he sees one. When pushed far enough, he has no qualms about lashing out and pushing them back, though will do his best not hurt anyone. Whether or not they have been taught a lesson, however, is up to them. Otherwise, he doesn't get bothered by people much.

Anthony is a little bit of a derp. And arrogant one at that. He believes he is God's gift to the world and is well justified in this belief because his mommy said so. He can't dance to save his life, yet he still thinks he's good enough to be on the next "So you think you can dance?" show. At least he can sing, that is one talent that is natural and trained, however half of it cam from projection training for the ROTC drill team he was in prior to coming to Hammel. Anthony is definitely interested in all things militaristic, going out of his way to find out the histories of such subjects ranging from individual wars, to artillery, to armored vehicles, to just a standard hand gun. If it blows up or drives fast, he likes it more, hence why he is such a fan of the tv shows Top Gear and Mythbusters.

FRIEND

In regards to friends, Anthony doesn't have trouble finding them as he is more than willing to go up and talk to people of all kinds, regardless of their reputations or temperaments. He drives himself to be a leader and as such, prides himself in being able to provide companionship and comfort to those who need it, though this is also in part to his own history of being ostracized for his own disability.

LOVE

When it comes to love, however, Anthony is looking for it in all the wrong places. Like Romeo, he tends to fall hard for a girl and will pursue it with all his might until he gets told no or to back off. Neither really happens though, because while his actions speak loudly enough, his words fall short in the worst ways. Anthony isn't exactly the definition of smooth when it comes to talking up a girl, though he still thinks himself awesome despite it, or is possibly completely unaware of his shortcomings. Add to that it takes him about 20 years to even express his feelings for a girl and you end up with one lonely, chronically brokenhearted boy, especially when he sees the object of his crush go for someone else completely.

ENEMY

It would also be easy for him to make enemies because there are just some things he will not put up with, especially when those kind of stigmas are pointed at his friends. Otherwise, it's actually hard for him to dislike anyone and he's willing to put up with quite a bit of unruly behaviors, letting most words and teasing slide off his shoulder with a laugh.

Brooke is a bit of an enigma to some. She speaks in riddles, in her own language of crazy which makes perfect sense to her but more than likely will have other raising their eyebrows. Brooke isn't stupid, though, and is actually far from it. Her antics, however crazy they may seem, are all for her own personal amusement. There might be a small bit of help in her crazy due to her bi-polar, but that only accounts for the extreme and dangerous stunts she may pull. Her brain never shuts down, which can make her low-periods painfully agonizing and her manic episodes seem like a faraway dream. During the former she may spend all her free time quiet and isolated, while during the latter she'll do anything to subside the enormous amount of energy she gets, including drinking, kick-boxing, reading, and shopping.

Party-hardies!

It's typically difficult for Brooke to make friends with people her own age. She finds the drama and concerns of high school to be…well, high school-ish. It might have something to do with their position of mentorship, or their intelligence level, or their overall maturity(as if Brooke has any maturity), but she prefers to connect with older people and teachers more so than her peers. It's hard to find someone, after all, with whom one can speak intelligently about Middle Age ballistics! Or psychology. Or some other random subject that most wouldn't even think to learn about, like the history of fast food!

During the time of her mania, Brooke has quite the sexual appetite, willing to get it from either a boy or girl, and usually after she's had more than a few Bloody Marys. So she gets around, usually for only a hook-up or two before someone realizes that she's not worth sticking around for. Given the high turnover, it's unlikely that she'll be able to form an emotional connection with anyone long enough for it to be considered love. There might be affection, but love is a risk she's not willing to take yet.

Brooke might most definitely make enemies. Between her shenanegains, her inability to be serious, and her tendency to troll for amusement, Brooke is bound to piss off one person or another. She may not have any particular grudge against them, but she certainly can't control how they feel. Of the few who do manage to get on her bad side, they can expect retaliation in the form of pranks, trolls, eyebrow raising threats, and possibly being chased with a baseball bat.

Derek is a very serious man who takes things very seriously. He can't stand for failure, especially in himself. He is a man of routine, who only stops to appreciate the smaller things in life that most people take for granted. His is also very intelligent, though while he maintains his medical knowledge, he is unable to practice due to some indiscretions that occurred in his past which he will never want to go into. While he may also smile, it is mostly just for polite purposes. Inside he is just a bitter old man.

Associates

Derek is one who respects intelligence and hard work. Therefore, if one is able to provide interesting conversation, then he is likely to take a liking to them. If one is clearly committed to what they do and they possess a strong set of principles, he is likely to show respect. He is, however, still able to put on a professional and polite face even if he has neutral feelings towards someone.

Relationships

Derek considers himself old and far past his prime. While there might still be feelings of like and love for his ex-fiancee and the mother of his child, he has accepted that neither are worth pursuing in this stage of his life. Derek doesn't believe he is deserving of a relationship anyway, though this may change if he happens to meet the right person.

I don't plan on it, but nothing says I can't.

Foes

The bar Derek set for himself is high and that level of standard in proportion to their capability he expects of everyone. He can't stand people who make pathetic excuses just so they can be lazy and unproductive, however this might just be projective of how he was in the past, though even now he doesn't associate himself with bums. He has a general dislike for metas, especially those with mind-control powers, and believes that homosexuality is just an excuse for kids to act out and be rebellious. A proper environment with strict discipline and respectable role-models ought to prevent that sort of behavior.

The first thing one notices about Angie is that she is young. Pretty. Then they find out she's the mother of a high-school teenager. Despite the mistakes she made in her past, Angie tries to stay optimistic about the future, if only for the sake of her son. She's playful, determined, and owns a smile that blossoms as beautiful as the roses which bloom in her garden. Her smarts, unfortunately, aren't nearly as bright as her smile, so she can sometimes seem a little dim in conversation.

Angie has no reason to dislike anyone who is genuinely nice to her. Or even those who are not-genuinly nice to her. She's a bit naive in that respect and will immediately favor and follow people who are sensitive, charismatic, charming…anything which can be considered a positive quality she will gravitate to. This pretty much means that she is likely to consider anyone her friend, even if they don't return the sentiment.

just a tease

Angie is a flirt. Half the time it's on purpose, the other half is purely accidental. Like when she goes out without a bra. She likes the attention that she gets from younger men, though she may or may not be serious about hooking up with them. As for love, Angie may still have a thing for dignified, charismatic, older men. While her last relationship has made her more wary of overbearing men in general, if she finds one who is a gentleman to her, she is liable to fall right back into the same old habits she had as a child. Maybe it'll work out differently this time, right?

i'm wary of

There's only one reason why Angie would ever dislike anyone else and that criticism of her son and of her ability as a mother. Angie does her best, despite her faults, and doesn't think anyone has the right to comment on things they know nothing about, especially after everything she and her son had gone through. Angie will fight tooth and nail, and ruthlessly if that's what it takes to get someone to pay attention enough for her to get what they need. People may dislike her for this as well. They may dislike her for her past, for her flirtatious nature, or even because of her lack of education. She is shameless in that respect though. Aside from the reason given above, they can think whatever they want about her.

So I have these new twins and I think they and Oriel...probably wouldn't get along. Although I wish they would, because Orion and Oriel is awesome. Anyways, the twins are extremely sarcastic and irritable and I can picture them having quite a glorious rivalry. Unless somehow two wrongs make a right and they end up terrorizing the rest of the campus.

That said, Oriel has been surprising me a lot lately in how he responds to people, so I can't say I'll know for sure how he'll react to your twins. But the mere fact that they're twins might be a trigger for resentment in him, since he's a separated twin himself. He might only be able to get along with Orion and only when he's not with his sister. But then again, Oriel might throw me one again, and actually like the sister, using her to replace the hole from not having his own in his life.

It'd be interesting to see. ^^
