Calling all members! We need your nominations for the Of The Month awards! Have you seen an awesome character lurking the forums? How about a thread you just can’t stop reading? Or a journal you keep coming back to? Nominate it here! We’re looking for nominations for all categories:

Character of the Month – Straightforward. Nominate the character you think deserves it for this month. Who was awesome? Who did something significant? As of now, Rae's, Abi's, Jon's, Etch's, Pam's, Faraday's, Lux's, and Maggie's characters are all off limits, as they’ve won in the past eight months.

Member of the Month – Again, pretty easy, right? Toss up the name of your favorite member. Remember, Rae, Apple, Lux, Maggie, Ophelia, Pam, Lurker, and Izy are off-limits for nominations. So is everyone on staff.

Relationship of the Month – Anything goes here! Friends, romance, enemies, anything! You cannot nominate:

Nomination: Glads Thompson
Reasons: Jonnay has a number of interesting characters, but you've gotta love Glads. I was looking around for people to plot with and I came across Jonnay's page, and this lovely fellow jumped out at me so I had to take a peek, and he's just an utter sweetie, and a total mummy's boy, and despite his rough past, he's just... gaah, a darling. <3 Also, some people may not understand what it is to be gender-fluid and Jonnay plays that part of Glads so well. Love it. Love him lots. Gah~

Reasons: And everybody sighs because I'm totally bias, but I have good reason! I know she's been going through a lot recently and yet she's still lovely and friendly and cool and stuff. She's generally just a delightful person and I don't think she realises that enough <3 Also her characters man. They're the bomb. I always love writing with her <3 whatta nerd

Nomination: Genevieve Duval and Osiris Jackson - Faking It
Reasons: Ahahah, ahah, I find this so entertaining. I'm a lazy butt so I struggle to read other people's threads a lot, but I kept hearing about these two so I had to go read this ridiculous thread about Jackson needing a fake girlfriend (see below) and I'm just laughing, it's brilliant, their awkward dynamic is brilliant and I hope their friendship (at least) continues after this whole escapade involving hickeys and Jackson's grandmother (that sounds dodgy), I'm just really intrigued to see where this will lead~ xD

Reasons: Yes, this is to go with my above nomination. From the initial confusions to the explanations and all the awkward and gah this is so entertaining! Love love love it xD They have no idea what they're doing sometimes and it's adorbs. Teehee.

Reasons: 1) The title itself is enough to be a winner. I'm sorry, but it's gold. 2) Unicorns. 3) Casual nakedness - ah, the awkward. This thread is just... gaaahhhh, I want more more more xD It's such a simple AU idea, having a different power, but it's just bRILLianT It makes me wish we could have actual unicorn shifters here. So perf.

Reasons: For many people on the board, I know it's been hard to find time this month. I know that real life situations - particularly with schooling - have plagued a lot of people and dragged them out of our sight-lines because they simply can't be as active. I've been fortunate enough to have a few threads running with Deb as she deals with this balance; she's always very attentive to keeping me aware of her situation. She's apologetic if she can't get to my threads as quickly as she'd like to. The things she does post for me are just as heart filled and as driven as all her posts; it can't be easy to devote your entire mentality to a thread when there's so much going on, so this month I commend her for that.

Ever since she's been here, she's been a kind and warm individual to anyone she speaks to. Always a bright light in the chat, Deb always seems incredibly willing to thread with anyone who's interested. She's an incredibly talented writer, and every thread I've had with her has been an absolute joy for me. She's helping me grow with the things I produce. If you haven't threaded with her yet, I highly recommend you get on that ASAP.

Reasons: Because he's wonderful, and lovely to talk to, and writes brilliantly, and filled my character request beautifully.

Nomination: Finn Eogeum
Reasons: I'm having so much fun threading with this guy, he's amazing and Apple writes him well. A little silly and literal. Jackson becomes "Jack's Son" and may his impromptu ice-pack "rest in peas". He's 23(right?) though act like such a child much of the time, even when he's upset and resorts to throwing marshmallows at the object of his frustration. Finn has hidden issues though, and they can overtake him if he's not careful, such as his "no touching" anxiety and when his bipolar is left unmanaged. I find him to be such a dynamic character, even in AUs when he's essentially a completely different person(and yet the same, lol). I want more threads, plz.

Nomination: Finn Eogeum and Rue Janggok – Best friends with a secret yearning
Reasons: They aren't together, not by a long shot, but reading their interactions, one might mistake them for partners. Rue is one of the few people that Finn trusts completely and will allow to make physical contact with him. Rue cares deeply about his friend and is always watching over him and noticing the subtleties in his moods, coloration, and aura. Finn is such a child sometimes in his affections, getting flustered and distracted over a simple kiss on the cheek, but recent events(that is, Rue macking on a boy several years his junior) are stirring up something more. Rue too is noticing these feelings in himself, but they both seem to be reluctant to explore what it means. I laff them, you should too! <3

Nomination: Who’s That Over There – Starring Sean, Josh, Rya, Anjali and Marnie
Reasons: This thread had been attempted before, and I was sad that it never took off before. I am thrilled to see the idea in play now and moving along so swiftly. I love the pretense that leads the three girls down to the club, an LGBTQ meeting that ended in an after-meeting party, complete with a round or two of shots! Marnie is adorable, interacting with these two ‘cute college girls’, Rya is entertainingly tactile, and Anjali is the one in the lead(and the only legal one out of the three). Enter Sean, who at first only sees Anjali, but then notices the other two who are certainly not supposed to be there. Dun dun DUNNN!! What will happen next??

Nomination: AU: Enslave My Heart – starring Rhys and Rya
Reasons: I like the historical setting, back when slaves were a thing. Pam is detailed in her description of Rhys’ history and plays him as the submissive servant. Rya is a high class young lady with her own plantation, curious about her slave’s ethnicity. It makes me cringe to see the use of the racial slurs which are rattled off so casually, but it’s also what makes the interaction so genuine and interesting. I think it takes some balls of steel to write in historical settings in the first place, but the content of this one takes even more, I think.

Nomination: Macie Wyatt
Reasons: I've wanted to have a thread with Macie since she first came to the board, because I find her character fascinating. I just started that thread, and although we're only a couple of posts in, I already enjoy writing with her as much as I expected. Macie is well-developed and has this sweetness and good humor about her that makes me wish that I knew her in real life.

Nomination: Rhythm
Reasons: Rhythm is a delight. Her character is a sweetheart. She writes lovely posts. And she is in the process of filling a character request that I've had open for nearly four years. Nothing can match the excitement that I feel for that, and so I salute her for her willingness to dive into a large and new environment and make connections.

Nomination: Milan Myles and Sienna Reid-Estrada - Friends
Reasons: I'm hard-pressed to think of a character more in need of a friend than Milan right now. As a result, I'm glad that he has one. He's had a difficult time of it this past year, and in the deepest pits of isolation, it's both nice and important to know that someone is there for you. Sienna is a good friend and a caring individual who swept in to distract him during some of the worst of it, and that's what good friends do.

Reasons: When I think of Hammel, I think of fun, absurd shenanigans and slice of life. When I think of TOTM, I think of threads like this one, where the events are so painfully possible and yet so simply amusing that I can't help but smile as I read. Best of all, it involves a Frozen sing-a-long.

Nomination: AU: The Pirate and the Stowaway
Reasons: I have a soft spot for historical threads, and both Pam and Tim have put a lot of sweat and tears into this thread to make it plausible while still within the realms of historical Hammel. Unsurprisingly, Lucas has taken well to the role of pirate, while Karalie is trying desperately to cope with the change of circumstances. It's a nice, long read that I encourage people to check in on.

Reasons: Em is great and not just because I brought her to Hammel. She has a very busy life which consists of studying to become an engineer. Balancing that with a reasonable amount of characters on Hammel is a feat. She's amazing and I love that Hammel is her creative outlet because we all get to see what she can do!

Reasons: Oh Mads! I finally got the joy of threading with the site mommy! She offered up Chase to be Monroe's trainer and I'm loving his character! It's obvious he's very developed on Hammel (Mads has had lots of time), but he's also so interesting in how he trains and how he regards his power. I'm definitely interested in reading other threads with this trainer in them!

Nomination: Ella Robbinson
Reasons: Really, you can nominate any of Eddie's characters because they are all well deserving as COTM. She has a cast of well developed, unique and interesting characters. In particular, I have a soft spot for Ella. She hasn't been dealt the best cards in life but tries to deal with her problems to the best of her ability. She is unmistakably human, in her actions and her words. Eddie portrays her very realistically in the sense that she makes mistakes and doesn't always say/do the right things. And that's why Ella deserves character of the month; because we've all been there. She is relatable, and I genuinely do feel for her (I mean, she's a dorm monitor. With the students around Hammel that's got to be a pretty crap job.) as I watch her progress throughout not only the threads I have with her, but her interactions with everyone else as well. The details that go into each post are skilfully executed and showcases Eddie's amazing writing skills. Ella's personality really shines through in each post and threading with her has been one of the highlights of my time here.

Basically, Ella is raw, real, and so very underrated.
