BASIC OVERVIEW: Layla was born in Madison, Connecticut but moved to Pilot Ridge, Vermont when she was three. Her powers manifested when she was eleven and she started attending Hammel immediately after, alongside both of her older siblings.
After graduating Hammel, Layla attended Fairfield College in Connecticut majoring in education. When she was finished with school, she took a year off, au pairing in France and traveling around Europe. She came back to Pilot Ridge in the summer of 2015 to teach English at the Institute.
Relationships:
Friends: Layla loves people and tries to see the best in everyone she meets. She loves making friends and is very easy to get along with. She's lively and bubbly most of the time and is always looking for ways to brighten someone's day.
Enemies: Layla is a lover, not a fighter. She avoids conflict and tries not to put herself in any type of negative situation. However, while some find her constant cheery attitude endearing, others can find it annoying and overwhelming. She tends to avoid these people though, claiming she doesn't want to be around people like that anyway.
Lovers: Layla is incredibly flirtatious, and will flirt with most men around her age regardless of whether she has romantic feelings for them or not. However, she does know not to overstep her boundaries, and will stop if she senses the other person is uncomfortable.
Students: She loves every single one of her students, even the ones who are more of a challenge. She's a great listener and always has time for her students, and loves seeing them advance. Layla has a very laid-back classroom policy, and encourages students to speak their minds whenever they have any questions or opinions.

BASIC OVERVIEW: Lip was born and raised in Napa, California. He’s been living in Pilot Ridge for the last seven years. He started attending Hammel when he was fourteen years old, and decided to stay after he graduated to be closer to his sister, who had just started attending the school.
He’s now a senior at the University of Vermont, living on his own in an apartment (that his father pays for) and commuting to school. He’s a business major with absolutely no plan of what he’s going to be doing after graduation.
Relationships:
Friends: Despite his cocky and somewhat bratty attitude, Lip has always been incredibly popular throughout his educational years. He’s not always easy to be get along with, but he has been known to be incredibly fun to be around.
Enemies: As an arrogant rich-boy, there have always been people who don’t like Lip. They don’t like his attitude and sometimes he just rubs people the wrong way. He also used to be a bully in high school, so there’s bound to be some residual hostility from some people.
Lovers: Lip doesn’t date unless he really likes someone. He’s been known to be a serial womanizer, and honestly prefers friends-with-benefits types of relationships or short-lived flings.

BASIC OVERVIEW: Cleo was born in Manhattan, New York City, NY and her family currently lives in Soho. She started attending Hammel when she was thirteen years old, and is currently a junior.
She's very artistic and involved in the art club at Hammel. Her parents are currently pestering her about looking at colleges and starting to think about what she wants to do after high school. She’s unsure about if she wants to move back to Manhattan and attend NYU, where both her parents teach, or stay in Pilot Ridge.
Relationships:
Friends: Cleo is easy to get along with once you get to know her, but her RBF tends to deter some people. While she always welcomes new friends into her life, she prefers to hang out in smaller groups. She’s incredibly honest and has no problem sharing her opinion, regardless of what it is.
Enemies: Cleo tries to stay away from drama as much as possible, though as a girl, she’s bound to get caught up in some eventually. Unless she’s really riled up, she usually walks away from confrontation. She can be judgmental, and has been known to come off as a little stuck up.
Lovers: Cleo doesn’t go out of her way to get romantically involved in someone. She prefers to just make friends and let the chips fall where they may.

His powers manifested rather publicly when he was fourteen, and he was sent to Hammel right away because of the dangers his powers hold. Even though he's seventeen he's going into his junior year at Hammel because he repeated fourth grade due to low marks.
Jamie has developed an aloof persona over the years, and is known to cause trouble. He's very laid-back, and tends to slack in school, which is the main reason why he just barely passes his classes. He also tends to dislike authority figures, and usually either has a poor attitude or just shuts down completely whenever an adult is trying to discipline him or make him do something that he's clearly not interested in.
Relationships:
Friends: Jamie has never been known for having an enthusiastic or outgoing personality, but he's not unpleasant to be around and is usually friendly enough. He can be aloof, but those who have gotten close to him have caught a glimpse of his charm. There's really only a few people that he really trusts, but he's made a decent amount of friends.
Enemies: Jamie doesn't actively seek out people to fight with. He doesn't really think maintaining antagonistic relationships are worth the trouble, so he just tends to avoid them all together. Sometimes his attitude can be abrasive and he might rub someone the wrong way, but he's never been the type of person to have a ton of enemies.

Her mother and father, as well as her American Eskimo dog, Little, still currently live in Phoenix. She came to Hammel a few months ago, as her telepathy manifested just a few days before her fourteenth birthday.
She's been dancing since she was two, and has been attending competitions since she was six. When she started Hammel she joined their Dance Team. She is currently adjusting to life at Hammel, as well as not devoting every single day of her life to dance. Rory has little control over her telepathy, so she is currently working on that as well.
Relationships:
Friends: Rory is a social butterfly. She loves being around people and hates being alone. She makes friends easily wherever she goes and loves being the center of attention. She is always looking for new friends and loves to be around anybody she can.
Enemies: Rory has a Type A personality. Everything always has to be perfect, no matter how hard she has to work on it. She often gets snippy with people when things don't go her way. She is also quite the gossiper, and can be catty and mean when she gets angry or if someone rubs her the wrong way. She's bound to make a few enemies if people don't like this side of her.
Lovers: Still young, Rory doesn't have much experience with boys. But, like most fourteen year olds, she is a little boy-crazy and tends to get giggly and blush whenever a cute boy is in the proximity. However, aside from this, she hasn't given much thought to dating.
